More than 1,500 shoe boxes were collected in the Magnolia area for Operation Christmas Child.

They were boxed up and shipped out Monday to the regional collection point in El Dorado.

The regional goal was 20,000 which was exceeded by 1,151 shoe boxes.

From El Dorado, the boxes will be sent to a larger collection point and distributed to children around the world.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief and evangelism organization led by Franklin Graham.
