Closure of rural schools called unconstitutional
LITTLE ROCK (AP) — An attorney for Arkansas parents who want keep their rural schools open says closing them due to high transportation costs violates the state constitution.
Parents of students who last year attended the elementary and high school in Fourche Valley asked Pulaski County Circuit Judge Collins Kilgore on Friday to block the Two Rivers School District’s plan to close the combined campus.
