Donald Davis of Magnolia won a new truck last week — the grand prize in a nationwide contest sponsored by a lumber company.

He took possession Thursday of the hybrid truck, driven by the CEO of an Alabama-based lumber company.

Davis, an employee of Entergy Corp. in Magnolia, endured a long, hard and sometimes difficult winter with more harsh weather than usual. But things looked up earlier this week with a stroke of good luck when Davis learned he is the grand prize winner in a national sweepstakes he’s entered “just about every week for the past two months.”
