The Waldo Fire Department responded to three blazes during the weekend.

The most serious was Saturday night on Columbia Road 141 southwest of Waldo. By the time firefighters arrived, flames had engulfed one end of the Doug Martin residence and had burned through the roof, said Fire Chief Kenneth Young.

The house was a total loss. It is uncertain on how many people lived in the house with Martin.
