Fire claims another Renfroe Street house

Magnolia firefighters had to fight against a south wind in order to extinguish the blaze. The fire caused minor damage to a neighboring home. The cause is under investigation.

The wave of house fires on Magnolia’s south side resumed early today, arousing more suspicion and panic for neighborhood residents.

Firefighters with the Magnolia Fire Department were dispatched to an abandoned residence in the 1200 block of Renfroe St. at 12:33 a.m. An actual address could not be determined by the fire department and the owner of the property could not be immediately identified.

According to Magnolia Fire Chief Greg Pinner, the blaze had already caused severe damage to most of the house when firefighters arrived.
