Raymond Wootton, 77, of Stamps, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.

He was born March 29, 1932 in Stamps. He was a member of Wootton Deer Club, Stamps Masonic Lodge as a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Willisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Eva Wootton; and two brothers, Aubrey Wootton and Carol Lee Wootton.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wootton of Stamps; two daughters, Beth McDowell and husband George of Buckner, and Vicky Nix of Texarkana, Texas; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and lots of good friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 1, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland and Rev. Jerry Pulliam officiating. Burial was held in the Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
