Aubrey F. Ellison, 88, of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1925 in Magnolia to the late Lester Lee and Ada Ethyl (Wise) Ellison.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Gunner’s Mate Second Class.  Following his service he became an active member of the American Legion.

 Aubrey and his wife Esther owned and operated Ellison Refrigeration Service for over 50 years.  He was a member of the American, Arkansas and Magnolia Hereford Associations, and especially active in the Magnolia Hereford Association and served as its president multiple times.

  He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Sherrill Ellison; sister, Audrey May Ford; and a son, Ronny Ellison.

Aubrey is survived by his wife, Esther Ellison of Magnolia; daughter, Sherry McKnight and husband Richard of Thibodaux, La.; four grandchildren; and his very special friend, Lucky, a border collie dog.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Owens  officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home., Inc.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Boyd, Gary Duke, Paul Duke, Bryan Duke, Mike Ford and Randall Ford.  Honorary pallbearers will be O.L. Wise and Lynn Franks.
