You can't say we don't do athletics right in our neck of the woods, especially baseball and softball. On Monday, the Magnolia Panthers won a must-win conference game to advance to the 5A State Baseball Tournament. Tuesday, the Southern Arkansas University baseball team won its third conference tournament championship in a row. Also on Tuesday, the Columbia Christian Crusaders and Lady Crusaders won their respective state titles in baseball and softball. And yesterday, the Panthers upset the #1 ranked 5A team in the state, Greene County Tech, to advance to the second round of the state tournament.

The United States Postal Service will hold its annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive campaign Saturday. Postal customers will be provided with bags for their donations, but customers who do not receive mail on routes, along with the public, may also drop off donations at the post office.
