Arkansas Parole Board issues clemency, pardon applications for Columbia County cases
The Arkansas Parole Board has issued recommendations regarding clemency and pardon applications for the following Columbia County cases. The board’s recommendations are non-binding and will be forwarded to Governor Mike Beebe's office for a final decision. The board can neither deny or grant a pardon or a clemency — that decision is solely the governor’s. The board makes non-binding recommendations on the merits of a clemency or pardon application.
- Donna Sanders: Recommended for commutation without merit for permitting child abuse. Sanders is also recommended for commutation without merit for four counts of permitting child abuse in Union County. Sanders is currently serving 12 years.
- Nelson Watson: Recommended for commutation with merit for six counts of manufacture, delivery, and possession of a controlled substance (habitual offender) and failure to keep records of distribution for controlled substances (habitual offender). Watson is currently serving six life sentences plus 12 years.
- Wallace Langford: Recommended for pardon with merit for violation of the Arkansas Controlled Substance Act and delivery of a controlled substance.
