John Panter, former defensive coordinator and safety coach for the El Dorado High School, has been named the new head football coach for the Magnolia Panthers.

During his six years at El Dorado, the Wildcats have been in four 6A state football finals, and won three championships.

Panter started his coaching career at the University of Oklahoma, where he served as a student assistant and graduate assistant from 1996-1999, and has since coached at various high schools and universities throughout Texas and Arkansas.
