Some comments from our Facebook readers on the first presidential debate last night:
•"Maybe it was just me, but I didn't understand a word of what either one of them said. It was all just a jumble. Did they not have issue outlines to work from?"
•"I don't agree with either of them really. We need a president that will do more for the working class."
•"What game do you know is won in the first quarter?"

On November 9, the Banner-News will honor our nation's veterans with a special section for Veterans Day, with stories and other information on local veterans. We are working on a "Letters From Home" section featuring letters and telegrams sent to or received from a serviceman. For inclusion in this section, please bring a copy of the letter to the Banner-News at 130 S. Washington Ave. between 1-5 p.m. Families and individuals may also honor veterans in our feature section with a photograph, including the individual's name, service years, and military branch of service, for $25. Call our office at (870) 234-5130 or stop by for more information.
