The Magnolia Downtown Merchants are sponsoring a Fall Festival around the Courthouse Square tomorrow and you’re invited! Lots of fun events – from a chili cook-off and a costume contest to a cracker whistling contest and a Magnolia Arts theater production – are planned! We’ll be there, and hope to see you there, too! Here, you’ll find a complete list of events and times . . .
• Two “jumping castles” will be on site and in operation, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Get your child’s face painted by Hannah Rich, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Sponsored by Simply Beautiful II.)
• Pink ‘n’ Blue Avenue will host a costume contest at 11 a.m.
• Hamburger ($6) and hot dog ($3) lunches will be available for purchase, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the east end of the Square by Mule’s Cantina.
• Mule’s Cantina is sponsoring a pumpkin decorating contest – enter by 11 a.m. at Mule’s because judging begins at 1 p.m.!
• A store window scavenger hunt begins at noon.
• The pie baking contest (cream, fruit or nut) will be judged at 1 p.m. at Jennifer’s. Pies must be submitted at Jennifer’s by 12:30 p.m.
• Miniature horse and buggy rides will be available 2-4 p.m. at Stephens Country Store.
• The cracker/whistle contest starts at 3 p.m. at Manik.
• Bring the kids and trick-or-treat downtown from 3-5 p.m.
• Enjoy live bluegrass performances at the Courthouse Gazebo, 3-6 p.m.
• The Haunt the Streets car show starts at 4 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church parking lot. (We can’t wait to see the rides that event will feature!!)
• And of course, you’re invited to finish the day with the talented performers of Magnolia Arts, who will bring to you a performance of “Blithe Spirit,” by Noel Coward, at 7 p.m. at the new Julia Gantt Gallery and Theater on the Square!
