Drive around Ouachita Parish, and you will see many a sign requesting a vote for the various candidates running for public office, such as state representative or clerk of court, the AP reports. However, officials say missing signs from five candidates for Ouachita Parish Sheriff is a problem.
One of the candidates, Joe Brady tells The News-Star he has the fewest signs out in the parish because he said they were being stolen. All the candidates admitted both Monroe and West Monroe city works departments could have moved their signs.
Ouachita Parish Maj. James Purvis said some candidates had contacted the sheriff’s office about the missing signs and deputies are investigating.
