Hempstead County authorities say the body of a man was found inside a burned home in the northern part of the county, according to an AP report.
Chief Deputy Mickey Atkinson told the Texarkana Gazette the body was found Wednesday after firefighters put out the fire at the house in McCaskill. Atkinson said the body has been sent to the State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for identification and to determine the cause of death.
He said the death appears to be fire-related.
Atkinson said the cause of the fire has not been determined — but that it appears to have started near a water heater.
