CADC to distribute commodities in Magnolia, McNeil

Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute USDA Commodities August 18-19 in Columbia County. Local distributions will begin at 9 a.m. at the Columbia County Fairgrounds at 101 Columbia 13 in Magnolia and in the McNeil Community at Hwy. 79 in McNeil.

The food items to be distributed may include whole corn, cream styled corn, apple juice, peaches, beef stew, peanut butter rotini and apple sauce. To be eligible to receive USDA commodities, income guidelines must be met. The income guidelines for this program are based on 130% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Based on these guidelines, a one person household must make less than $14,157 per year to qualify for this program. For each additional family member, add $4,966.
