Regarding this morning’s announcement that Congressman Mike Ross won’t seek a seventh term, we received the following statement from former State Rep. Bruce Maloch, who many have considered a possible candidate for Ross’ seat: “I have been planning for some time to run for State Senate in 2012 when Senator Malone’s term ends. While I was surprised at Congressman Ross’ announcement earlier today, I remain committed to running for State Senate and believe that is where I can best serve my state at this time. I am flattered to be considered as a potential candidate and believe there will be strong candidates and a spirited campaign to replace Congressman Ross. Congressman Ross is one of the hardest working and dedicated public servants I know. I want to publicly thank him for his service to the 4th Congressional district and to our state.”
