We’ve just left the Magnolia Advertising and Promotion Commission meeting, and we’re pleased to announce that the commissioners approved $15,000 for the Magnolia Arts Council’s renovations and improvements to its new home on the Courthouse Square. You’ll get the full details of that meeting in tomorrow’s Banner-News, but suffice it to say, there was a great deal of discussion on the matter, and you’re going to want to read the commissioners’ comments on the request.
Also approved by the A&P were requests by the Boys and Girls Club ($2,350), Columbia County Fair Association ($3,685.58) and Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club ($696.99). The commissioners also approved approximately $3,000 for plants to dress up the Courthouse Square and a spring advertising budget of $5,500.
