Camden resident sentenced on drug charges in federal court

A press release just received moments ago from the Department of Justice states that Camden resident Audrey Tatum, 33, was sentenced to 262 months with no parole and 10 years of supervised release in U.S. District Court in El Dorado today.

According to the press release, on Sept. 30, 2009, and Oct. 5, 2009, FBI agents and Camden Police Department detectives made two controlled purchases of crack cocaine totaling 50 grams from Tatum in Camden. Tatum entered a guilty plea on Sept. 15, 2010.

Judge Harry F. Barnes, when sentencing Tatum today, “stated that crack cocaine is a major problem in South Arkansas, and that Tatum contributed to the problem by distributing large amounts of the drug,” the press release says.
