Winter weather expected in North Arkansas

A winter storm is expected to drop a layer of freezing rain and snow in Northwest Arkansas today, reports the AP. Naturally, with our high weekend temperatures, we shouldn’t expect the same down here in our neck of the woods, but be advised that the National Weather Service IS predicting that we’ll get our own helping of winter weather later this week.

Extended forecasts call for the temperatures to drop Thursday night to 20 above zero in Southwest Arkansas, to be followed by a “slight chance” of snow Friday. The lows Friday are expected to be near zero with highs in the lower 40s, the NWS reports.

In the meantime, though, enjoy this crazy Arkansas weather which is expected to bring highs in the upper 50s and 60s through Wednesday!

We certainly enjoyed the local highs in the 70s on Saturday and Sunday – did you? Send us your “Warm Weather Fun” photos and we’ll post them here on the blog – perhaps they’ll keep us warm when the chill arrives later this week!
