The Southern Arkansas University Theatre Department will present ‘Moonlight and Magnolias,’ directed by Professor Clayton Guiltner on Nov. 30- Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. each evening.
Audience members will get to watch as the production team of the movie classic ‘Gone with the Wind’ struggles to bring the epic film to life. The play, based on true events that surrounded the making of such a famous film, brings the comedy and drama of Hollywood in 1939 to the stage.
With a writer who hasn’t read the book, a director who isn’t willing to work without a script and a producer who has an insane time limit to make a final product, movie lovers will have even more respect for the epic film after seeing ‘Moonlight and Magnolias’.
General admission for the show is $5 each evening, and $3 for SAU students and faculty. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., with curtain at 7 p.m. in Harton Theatre, located on the Southern Arkansas University campus.
