Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett has said no to the Lingerie Football League, reports the Associated Press.
The league is made up of teams featuring women playing tackle football while wearing halter style tops and tight shorts in addition to football gear. the LFL had said it had hoped to have a franchise in Oklahoma City by the 2011 season that starts in August.
But Cornett said Thursday that “There are too many problems to list” and he will not let the LFL play in any city-owned venue. Lingerie Football League chairman Mitchell Mortaza said Cornett is taking away the freedom of individuals to choose what sporting events to attend.
