Mentions of Magnolia

We always enjoy doing random Internet searches for people and events with Magnolia and Columbia County ties, and today’s search turned up quite a few:

• Katherine Fell, a native of Stamps, Ark. and a graduate of Southern Arkansas University, will be honored during a University of Findlay-hosted presidential inauguration ceremony Friday on the front steps of Old Main to kick off Homecoming weekend. She is the university’s 17th president. The University of Findlay is located in Ohio.

• Kansas State University at Salina’s Students In Free Enterprise team were named the Walgreen’s Wrangle grand champions for the second consecutive year at the annual business case competition held at SAU Sept. 16-18.

• Fourth Congressional District candidate Beth Anne Rankin (R) has drawn much attention with the recent announcement that she’s been endorsed by the Tea Party. She – and incumbent opponent Congressman Mike Ross (D) – are the subject of a recent post on the Arkansas Times Blog.
